It’s that time of year- an important time in your life for :

  • reflection
  • attitude alignment
  • communication
  • insight into the New Year

The acronym “R A C I” is an exercise i encourage.

Let’s start with REFLECTION.  How did your year go?  Were you centered or off the hinges?  How was your diet and exercise regimen?  How did you treat your family and friends?   Why did you get angry or who hurt you and why?  What challenges did you overcome or put you under?  How was your faith?  How many authentic connections did you make?  Did you push yourself to the limits emotionally, spiritually, physically and intellectually?

Now…use that intelligence to dig deeper next year.  Make your own list and reflect.

Next is ATTITUDE.  What is your outlook for next year?  Do you believe in yourself, your Higher Power, your team and family?  Have you visualized the wins you will experience next year?  What does that look and feel like?  Are you going to avoid negative energy and negative people?  Are you acting like an adult or a child?

Now…Have an attitude of gratitude and get the focus off yourself- and great things will happen next year.

Next is COMMUNICATION.  To set your goals and objectives, you must speak, write, and communicate them to an accountability partner.  Your spouse, business mentor, boss, your Higher Power, anyone who will listen to you.  This is very important so don’t overlook this. There is a powerful connection in your brain when you put this accountability out there- so someone can help you reach your goals.  Many problems occur due to lack of simple communication- even the small little things must be said repeatedly.  Do this now, not later.

Finally, INSIGHT.  Simply put, what are YOU going to contribute to your family, team and loved ones?  You certainly have insights we want and need.  Focus on your strengths and share them – so you can improve on your growth and development while also creating impact with ones you touch.  No need to overly focus on your weaknesses, those will improve with the above “RACI” strategy- and humility will start to over ride your false ego and insecurities.

One technique we use at our Firm is the 30.90.180 day goals and objectives list.  We require each team member to write all of their “RACI” items on few sheets of paper, then I review them and we commit to eachother and the respective plan.  Remember the RACI can be personal, business, spiritual, family, and all categories.  I find the more you are authentic in this exercise, the better your New Year will be.

So go now, the key is NOW- and allow “RACI” to be the best exercise and New Year paradigm moving forward.  2016 is upon us- you are loved, we need you, and want you to contribute.  I hope YOU will Create Joy, Health and Significance- Inspire and Live Inspired!

We all have many reasons to be fearful, worried and anxious about the past, today and future.  Are you going to lose your job, is your child going wild, are you losing your mind, are bills piling up, is your health struggling, does your spouse think you are crazy, etc etc??

Here are 3 steps to help you, me and our loved ones—from my favorite Mentor and Pastor Rob Renfroe:

  1. Choose FAITH- can you dig into more of faith based healthy believing, thinking, acting, reacting and interacting?  Sure you can.  Seek spiritual healing, focus on what Faith means to you.  Believe it will work out, and BE just that.
  2. Choose PRAYER - this is your time with your Creator.  Shut down all the noise and have an active relationship with the reason you are here in the first place.  Are you going to solve your own problems, or are you going to seek the calm, peaceful, wise Counsel?  Give up your problems in quiet time, rest easy, ask for help in His ways and timing, not yours. He will make your path straight again in Faith and Prayer.
  3. Choose NOW – the time is now, not tomorrow to start.  The feeling of unconditional love and support in community will help- but we must act upon it.  Human Beings deep down love to help, Christ is here and alive, and we as Believers must interact in fellowship NOW.  Take a friend to lunch, be authentic, ask for help and foregiveness, and listen to your trusted guidance.  It sometimes comes in small subtle ways, but now you are ready, willing and able to change.

Remember this- F & P Now (Faith and Prayer NOW) and go make friends and impact- while getting closer to your Creator.  We need you!

This is a great message (from Jim Jackson) of why your work matters and more importantly…when you do your work–do it with compassion, 110% effort, and far beyond average.  YOU ARE NOT AVERAGE- so BE EXCEPTIONAL now- and LIVE that way by your actions!

The law of uncommon results: If you want uncommon results, you have to do common things in uncommon ways.

“It is safe to stay in the middle of the pack.  If you are average no one complains about you or expects too much of you.  Mediocrity has its rewards.  But you never find out what you are capable of.

Here is the problem: some people expect uncommon results from common effort.  And they are usually disappointed.  If you want uncommon results, you have to do common things in uncommon ways.

By “common things” I mean doing the basic things with excellence.  Think football: blocking and tackling and second efforts, not trick plays or looking good coming out of the huddle.

By “uncommon ways” I mean creativity, enthusiasm and going beyond anything that could reasonably be expected.  Again, think football: covering for the mistakes of other players, improvising to get open or playing while hurt.

People who do common things in uncommon ways achieve uncommon results.”

The late Zig Ziglar remind us ….”if you give enough other people what they want, you will get what you want”.

In our selfish worldly society, its easy to make things all about YOU.  I know this well, being the only son (and youngest child) of a family of five.  Until recently, my heart was right, but the actions sometimes did not equate.  Then, the transformation- THANK GOD!  My pastor says you are not a man until you are 30…and i love my 30′s~!

We all have “it” in us- the ability to love, to give gifts of kindness, leadership, compassion, trust, mercy, forgiveness and sacrifice.  It’s God given- a gift to us.  So now we have an obligation to reciprocate. The issue is, our mainstream world does not always promote that- or its masked with sin, greed and pride.  It’s all about ME– or is it all about something, someone, a cause and a mission greater?

Believers encounter this way of living every day…and when we see the light- the bright light of compassion leads to JOY.  we know joy is not a reaction or a conditional response- it’s what and who we are!  Yes, and it’s a choice.

What can we do to live in JOY and do what we love- that causes impact and give gifts to others.

  1. Accept the TRUTH – and extend GRACE to others.   It’s hard- just do it NOW!
  2. Pray and meditate on what JOY looks like- ask for help and embrace change
  3. Help your spouse, family, loved ones and strangers- it get’s your mind off YOU.
  4. Learn from mistakes, all of them…The word “TEST” is in the word “TESTIMONY”.
  5. Be thankful for your mistakes, and please then turn the page
  6. find a way NOW to forgive your enemies- maybe they don’t know what they did or just need help too- get over it!
  7. prepare to be blessed- you are here for Impact, Love, and to make positive Change
  8. Give away your time, talents, treasure with discipline to others–it’s not your stuff- it belongs to your Creator to share
  9. LUNGE forward and get uncomfortable- if you are comfortable- you are not doing enough work that matters
  10. BE AUTHENTIC- yourself, YOU…be funny, laugh, smile and apply some affection to loved ones

Now, GO- GO NOW and do this work with family, friends, co-workers and strangers– and make this crazy world a better place- WE NEED YOU!





Have you ever heard the term “punch fear in the mouth”, or “dance with the Fear”, “or “No Fear”?

Let’s face it, some Fear is good as it keeps us alive- and we will never have “no fear” unless we all want to die fast.  Fear helps us escape from a rabid dog, keep our doors locked at home or not go into a dark alley after dark. What I really want to discuss here quickly, is Faith vs Fear….  and the Fear you can further drill down into as “anxiety”.  So, what if we replaced the word “Fear” with “Anxiety”…now you start to know the feeling we are discussing …. that uneasy feeling of the last minute presentation, the Meet the Parents encounter, the family member who is sick, the feeling you are not worthy feeling….the feeling you have not made enough, done enough, impacted enough people, etc… that uneasy feeling…maybe it is FEAR/anxiety (False Evidence Appearing Real) F.E.A.R

So below, the main point of this blog is exactly what one of my old Pastors Jim Jackson sent our this morning, and it surely hits a chord.  I hope you like this as much as i do in better understanding your Brilliant Brain (Neocortex) FAITH Infused Brain vs your Lizard Brain (Reptilean primiative FEAR based brain)  we need both….but maybe its time to embrace Faith and Less Fear ;)

The law of fear and faith: Faith is the antidote to fear.

To the extent that we are plagued by fear, we are not living by faith.  And to the extent that we are living by faith, we are not ruled by fear.  Faith and fear are opposites.

By “faith” I mean more than what people say they believe.  Faith is how we live out what we say we believe.  It is acting in a believing way.  Faith is belief wrapped in skin.

Courage is sometimes different from faith, but up close the two look just alike.  Faith-filled people act with courage.  They act on their convictions regardless of public opinion or social consequences.  They do not shrink from friends or foes.  The throw caution to the wind and do what their flesh is afraid to do.  That is why the first category of people excluded from the heavenly city, according to the Book of the Revelation, are cowards.  Cowards lack faith and without faith it is impossible to please God.

What is is you know you should do that you are afraid to tackle? Do not be afraid. Have faith.



Have you ever noticed when someone you know always seems to be in the right place at the right time- and maybe that is you? Most of the time, we want to believe it’s luck or the golden touch!

But maybe, just maybe, that person is highly in tune with their AWARENESS and NOTICING sixth senses.  What do i mean by that?  Simply put, I believe these conscious efforts are manifested in the brain whereby one can actually make deliberate choices to be in tune with their immediate and far reaching senses- as it relates to physical, mental, and spiritual stimuli occurring every millisecond we live.

for instance, i have 4 children, i usually make a choice to always prepare myself in a parking lot and know how many things could happen if a teenager reckless driver barrels thru the parking lot, and what i would do in that situation.  i will find myself walk first into the crossing, look far away and close by for other cars arriving or departing, then make the assessment it is all clear to lock hands and then cross.  this in turn keeps me and my children above the death line.

kind of a silly example above, but lets use the same example of awareness/judgement/noticing in a business deal.  Have you played out the entire film strip of what’s to come in your next deal?  Evaluative Judgment might just be the highest human behavior as evidenced by the Hartman Profile.

Disclaimer:  ”Faith” is the number one way to accomplish the unthinkable- but here are some tips i have for you approaching your daily life and help put more Faith in action  - so you can thrive and be in hyper tune with your senses and be able to manifest and predict just what might happen before it does…

  1. stay healthy, balanced, and have a clear mind- this will open up creative juices.  try Yoga, working out, healthy diet.
  2. strip out all the noise- pay attention to what you are doing at that specific time.  means you must Focus.
  3. Think, Initiate then Reflect. Don’t just React! Thinking first of what you are doing before you do it – gets linear thinking in tune
  4. Quiet the Lizard Brain (our fight or flight attitude. Many people call it “The Lizard Brain” because the limbic system is about all a lizard has for brain function. It is in charge of fight, flight, feeding, fear, freezing-up, and fornication.)
  5. Instead Engage the Neocortex. The neocortex is involved in higher functions such as sensory perception, generation of motor commandsspatial reasoningconscious thought and language.  this is far different then our primitive lizard brain!
  6. practice productive paranoia- not destructive- i said productive paranoia— how many things can go wrong when i do this deal and did i bring extra oxygen to the dance?
  7. be uber specific about your INTENT of what you are doing at that moment- are you completely plugged into your task, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually?
  8. love and respect every moment of your life, even changing diapers.  find joy to increase the awareness factor in all life
  9. manifest and visualize how your task or deal will go down— same as golfers visualize their shot before shooting? try meditation too
  10. Believe in yourself and team (family)- you notice, love, protect, defend, create and share your new found gifts

I hope you will find the above thoughts,steps, and ideas beneficial for you.  I feel your life will change when you change your intentions on noticing, awareness and evaluative judgement.  As with anything, its a God given gift to us, but we must deliberately use this gift, concentrate, pray about it, and practice, and of course want it!  God bless- Happy Trails

FIGHTING the Battle Within

YOU are in the biggest fight of your LIFE.  The most important challenge for YOU is to learn how to conquer YOURSELF.  We all have a story- what is YOURs?

FEAR- can YOU dance next to FEAR?  – sure you can.  FEAR are False Experiences/or Evidence Appearing Real (FEAR).  When you have the belief, faith and conviction in God’s will- well then just rest easy…or at least do your best right?  When has He purposely done you wrong?

DOUBT- can YOU get to the next level when you second guess yourself?  YOU have purpose in this LIFE, so go for it.  God loves you and so do ALL the people who believe in YOU.  YOU are here to be an example to others and lunge forward and GO FOR IT!

SHAME- who really cares what YOU did in the past – they may not forget but should forgive, …and did you learn and change is the key.  Guilty feelings are one thing, and can be used constructively, but don’t wallow in shame– it is a cancer that spreads and infects others.  YOU are forgiven, and a new human being.  LOVE others and get the focus off YOURSELF and go help somebody.  Be vulnerable – the opposite of SHAME.
